Activities and excursions during your holidays on the Gargano peninsula.
The Tremiti Islands
The Tremiti islands, also called “the Adriatic sea’s pearls”, are about two miles from the Gargano peninsula, not far from our Gargano resort.
Every year an increasing number of tourists is attracted by the fascinating landscapes and crystal clear water of the Tremiti Islands. The San Nicola Island is the historical and religious center of the archipelago; for the many tracks of its glorious past, the Island is considered an open museum. The San Domino Island is partly covered by forests of Aleppo pines. The water is so clear that it is considered a marine park. The Tremiti Islands are easily reachable by ferry from Rodi Garganico, Peschici and Vieste.
The marine caves of Vieste
Boat trips take place every day from Vieste to visit the many caves of the Gargano coast: Vieste-Peschici and Vieste-Mattinata, in a landscape full of luxuriant nature.
The caves have the most curious names; they’ve been given by the fishermen who discovered them. Nowadays the caves are a fundamental destination for those tourists who want to spend their holidays at close contact with nature; this is must do experience during your Gargano Holidays!
San Giovanni Rotondo "Padre Pio" and Monte Sant'Angelo
San Giovanni Rotondo is situated in the mountains, not far from Monte Sant’Angelo and St. Michael’s cave.
Thanks to Padre Pio, San Giovanni Rotondo has become one of the world’s most important religious destinations. The city hospital was built at the behest of Father Pio, to guarantee health care to all the people who need it. Don’t miss the chance to visit St. Michael’s cave and Monte S. Angelo during your Holidays Gargano!
